Hive Lords are an Elite Warrior Caste whose Hierarchical Status in the Changeling Swarm is equivalent to that of a General. As such, they serve a very important role as military leaders who are responsible for organizing and directing the Hive Cluster's forces into battle. Without them, the Changelings suffer greatly from inefficiency due to a lack of coordination and motivation.
Successful Hive Lords can become elevated to the rank of Greater Hive Lord with the final rank, Swarm Lord, given to only the strongest of them all.
