- Rarity suffers from a rare Unicorn disease called crystalitis which is caused by a powerful discharge of magical energy affecting a Unicorn who isn't strong enough to nullify the radiation.
- Her condition has caused her to slowly turn insane and only with the help of her younger sister has Rarity managed to avoid sliding down the path of self-destruction.
- Thanks to her charms and skillful scheming, Rarity managed to work her way up to the very top of the Equestrian Trade Union and become its head councilmare.
- After joining the Society of Canterlot Nobles by marrying its leader, Prince Blueblood, Rarity staged a fatal accident in which she killed her husband.
